Higher Maths

The Higher Maths course consists of 3 units :-

 

Expressions and Functions,

Relationships and Calculus,

Applications.

 

At St John’s we teach the topics in the following order :-

 

June – October :               Functions and Graphs, Recurrence Relations, Straight Lines, Exact Values and

                 Differentiation.

 

October – January:          Polynomials, Quadratics, Circles, Integration, Double and Compound Angle

                                                Formulae.

 

January – April:                 Vectors, Further Calculus, Wave Function, Exponential and Logarithmic

                                                Functions.

 

Pupils are expected to use their textbooks to finish off work every night and also complete regular homework.
