TSB U15 NATIONAL TROPHY FINAL - DUNDEE CHAMPIONS

Kieran Conway and Taylor Carroll of St John;s RC High School were part of the team who competed at at Broxburn as Dundee beat Ayrshire 4-2 to take the trophy for the first time since 1988.

After missing a few chances Dundee fell behind to Ayrshire in the 16th minute but were level three minutes later when a corner created havoc in the Ayrshire box and Taylor Carroll scored from close range. On the half-hour Ayrshire broke quickly through the middle to go 2-1 up.

Ben Mooney, recovering from a recent injury, came on at halftime and made an impact straightaway. Three minutes into the half he crossed to the penalty spot where Adam Brown shot in at the far post to make it 2-2. Ten minutes later Ben Mooney outpaced the central defence and beat the keeper to put Dundee into the lead for the first time. Ayrshire rattled the bar in an attempt to equalise. In the last ten minutes several substitutions were made to replace tiring players and in the 78th minute Kyle Anderson and Ben Mooney combined to set up Rory Faulkner, only on the park for two minutes, to net for 4-2. Ayrshire pressed hard in time added on and after five minutes won a penalty - David Beattie saved it and it was the final kick of the match as the full-time whistle sounded. Celebrations started immediately, then the medals were awarded and Ryan Smith lifted the trophy to spark off more celebrations.
